Masala okra Recipe
Okra/Bhindi commonly known as lady's finger is flowering plant in the mallow family. The geographical origin of okra is disputed but in present okra is mainly grown in India, Nigeria, Sudan, Pakistan, Ghana,Egypt, Benin, Saudi Arabia, Mexico and Cameroon.
This green vegetable is long finger like which has stickiness inside. Okra pods are long, slender and elegantly shaped, just like lady's finger, hence the name lady's finger. Okra is good source of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and fiber. It is good for digestion as it has high fiber. It is also protects the liver against free radical damage due to it's antioxidant property.
