Kerala payasam roasting moong dal in ghee. Boiled with coconut milk and jaggery. Seasoned with cardamom, ginger powder and cumin powder. Garnished with fry fruits.
STEP 1.Add 1 tbsp ghee in a pan. Heat the pan and add 200gms of moong dal. Stir fry.
STEP 2.Pour 3 cups of thin coconut milk and allow it to boil for ½ hour.
STEP 3.Pour in melted jaggery and boil in a low flame for ½ hour.
STEP 4.Pour 1 cup of thick milk and boil.
STEP 5.Turn off the flame and add ½ tsp dry ginger powder, 3 crushed cardamom and ½ tsp cumin powder.
STEP 6.Garnish payasam with fried cashews, raisins and coconut bits.
