Ingredients for Cherupayar Payasam Recipe

  • 1/5 cup Green gram
  • 80 gram Jaggery syrup
  • 1.40 glass Milk
  • 0.40 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1/20 teaspoon Cardamom
  • 0.40 tablespoon Cashew nuts
  • 0.40 tablespoon Raisins
  • 0.40 tablespoon Coconut bits
  • 1/5 pinch Salt

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak green gram in water for 2 hours

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To this add melted and filed jaggery syrup from 400gm of jaggery.
  • STEP 2.Mix both the ingredients. Stir and cook till the syrup is dried out.
  • STEP 3.Add 5 glass of milk and continuously stir the mix.
  • STEP 4.Now take 2 tbsp of rice flour and mix well with the 2 cup of milk. Pour this into the vessel. Allow to boil.
  • STEP 5.Turn off the flame. Add a pinch of salt.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with roasted cashews, raisins and coconut bits.
