Ingredients for Cherupaya Parippu Payasam Recipe

  • 25 gram Moong dal
  • 31.25 milliliter Melted Jaggery
  • 0.13 cup Thick coconut milk
  • 0.38 cup Thin coconut milk
  • 0.06 teaspoon Dry ginger
  • 0.38 No.s Cardamom powder
  • 0.06 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 0.13 tablespoon Raisins
  • 0.13 tablespoon Cashew Nuts
  • As required Coconut bits finely chopped a handful
  • 0.13 teaspoon Ghee

Directions: Cherupaya Parippu Payasam Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Add 1 tbsp ghee in a pan. Heat the pan and add 200gms of moong dal. Stir fry.
  • STEP 2.Pour 3 cups of thin coconut milk and allow it to boil for ½ hour.
  • STEP 3.Pour in melted jaggery and boil in a low flame for ½ hour.
  • STEP 4.Pour 1 cup of thick milk and boil.
  • STEP 5.Turn off the flame and add ½ tsp dry ginger powder, 3 crushed cardamom and ½ tsp cumin powder.
  • STEP 6.Garnish payasam with fried cashews, raisins and coconut bits.
