Labra is specially made during any occasion. It is a dish filled with 5 different vegetables but tastes amazing. traditional vegetarian breakfast curry, labra is made in both Bangladesh and Calcutta. It is a delightful mix of vegetables cooked together with spices. This can be cooked during the auspicious Durga Puja and also on Bengali New Year.

1 teaspoon Turmeric
1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
1 tablespoon Garlic paste
1 tablespoon Ginger chopped
1 tablespoon Cumin paste
2 Chopped Onions
5 green chili

Directions : Mixed Veggies (Labra) Recipe

STEP 1.Peel off the skin from the potatoes and dice them, slice the green chilies from the middle.

STEP 2.Chop the onions, beans, carrot, and cabbage.

STEP 3.Grate the ginger around 2tbsp.

STEP 4.Remove the green peas from their pod.

STEP 5.Make a paste of green chili, garlic, and cumin seed ( all about 2tbsp).

STEP 6.Take a kadai to add 2 cups of water and add the veggies-(potato, peas, carrots, beans, and cabbage).

STEP 7.Add the garlic paste, green chili paste, and cumin paste (each 2tbsp). Mix them well with the veggies.

STEP 8.Add 1tsp turmeric and 1tsp salt. Cover it for 10mins and let it cook.

STEP 9.Once they are cooked and water dries up. Now take another kadai to pour 7-8tbsp oil,

STEP 10.Heat the oil and add 2 bay leaf, dry red chili and 5 mixed spices, saute them and let the aroma infuse.

STEP 11.Add the onions and fry them till translucent, now add 2 tbsp grated ginger and saute them well.

STEP 12.Now add the cooked veggies and mix all of them well. Add ½ cup water if needed.

STEP 13.Now add the 1 ½ tbsp roasted cumin powder and 1tbsp sugar(optional) and mix it well with the veggies.

STEP 14.Cover it and cook it for more than 5 mins.

STEP 15.Serve it with steamed rice.
