Directions : Miso Hummus Recipe: A Protein-Rich, Creamy, Umami Twist On The Classic Chickpea Dip Recipe
- STEP 1.In a blender, add the cooked chickpeas, tahini, white miso, lemon juice, garlic and cumin powder to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture gets a smooth consistency.
- STEP 2.Add olive oil and a little cold water and blend again. Slowly add more water until the hummus turns smooth, creamy and is in a spreadable consistency.
- STEP 3.Taste the hummus before adding salt, as miso is already salty. Add a little salt only if required, along with extra lemon juice if you want to get a sharper taste.
- STEP 4.Continue blending for another minute or two to get a lighter, smoother texture. Scrape down the sides of the blender if some of the mixture gets stuck there.
- STEP 5.Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and spread it with the back of a spoon. Make a small swirl in the centre and then drizzle with olive oil or chilli oil.
- STEP 6.Finish it with some sesame seeds and chopped spring onion or coriander. Serve fresh with pita bread, crackers, cucumber, carrot sticks, toast or use as a spread in sandwiches and wraps.
