  • 50 g Mawa or khoya
  • 16 g Powdered sugar
  • As required ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 0.40 tbsp chopped almonds
  • 0.40 tbsp Chopped pistachios
  • 1/5 tbsp Ghee
  • As required a few saffron strands
  • As required Optional

Directions: Make Mawa Modak With Khoya And Nuts For Ganpati Bhog Recipe

  • STEP 1.Crumble the mawa and add it to a heavy-bottomed non-stick pan. Cook it over low heat, stirring constantly, until it softens and reaches a smooth texture.
  • STEP 2.To the khoya, add powdered sugar and continue cooking it on a low flame. Mix it constantly as the sugar melts and the mixture starts to loosen.
  • STEP 3.Now, add cardamom powder, chopped almonds, pistachios, and saffron. Continue cooking until the mixture turns thick and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
  • STEP 4.Transfer the prepared mixture to a greased plate and let it cool until it is warm enough to handle comfortably.
  • STEP 5.Grease your palms with a little ghee and lightly coat the modak mould. Take a small portion of the warm mawa mixture and press it firmly into the mould.
  • STEP 6.Carefully unmould the modak, then repeat with the remaining mixture. Let the finished mawa modaks cool down thoroughly before serving or storing in an airtight box.
