Directions: Probiotic But Chatpata: Easy Dahi Tadka Recipe For Culinary Newbies

  • STEP 1.Add your curd to a bowl and whisk until smooth. If it is very thick, then loosen it with 1–2 tablespoons of water. Also add salt and mix well.
  • STEP 2.Then heat oil or ghee in a small pan over medium heat. Then add the mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  • STEP 3.Tip in your cumin seeds, dried red chilli, and curry leaves. Once they sizzle and become fragrant, add your chopped green chillies as well.
  • STEP 4.Now lower the heat and add turmeric and red chilli powder. Stir for just a few seconds, taking care not to burn the powdered spices.
  • STEP 5.Immediately spoon the hot tadka over your whisked curd. Gently mix once or leave the tempering sitting on top for a more visually striking finish.
  • STEP 6.Finally, scatter chopped coriander over the top. Taste and adjust the salt or green chilli if needed.
  • STEP 7.Dahi tadka tastes best when freshly made and consumed, since the contrast between cool, creamy curd and the warm, aromatic tempering is at its most delicious.
