Ingredients for Chocolate Modak Recipe For Ganpati Bappa Recipe

  • 1/5 cup desiccated coconut
  • As required ½ Cup Condensed Milk
  • 20 g Dark Chocolate
  • As required finely chopped
  • 0.40 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 0.40 tbsp Milk
  • 1/5 tbsp Ghee
  • As required ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 0.40 tbsp Chopped almonds and cashews
  • 1/5 tbsp Chocolate chips
  • As required Optional
  • As required A small pinch of salt
  • As required Ghee
  • As required for greasing the modak mould

Directions: Chocolate Modak Recipe For Ganpati Bappa

  • STEP 1.Heat ghee in a non-stick pan over low heat. Then add your desiccated coconut and roast for 2–3 minutes, stirring continuously, until fragrant. Do not let it brown.
  • STEP 2.Now add in condensed milk, cocoa powder, milk, cardamom powder, and a small pinch of salt. Mix everything well and cook over low heat until the mixture thickens and begins to leave the sides of the pan.
  • STEP 3.Then add in the chopped dark chocolate and stir until completely melted and incorporated into the coconut mixture. Continue cooking for another 1–2 minutes until the mixture becomes soft but firm enough to hold its shape.
  • STEP 4.Now, mix in your chopped almonds, cashews, and chocolate chips, if using. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool until it is comfortable enough to handle.
  • STEP 5.Lightly grease a modak mould with ghee. Then take a small portion of the chocolate mixture and press it firmly into the mould, filling it right to the top. Ensure there are no gaps.
  • STEP 6.Finally, gently open the mould and release your modak with patience. Repeat with the remaining mixture, greasing the mould lightly whenever needed.
  • STEP 7.Finally, place your finished chocolate modaks on a plate and let them cool completely. For a slightly firmer, truffle-like texture, you can also refrigerate them for 20–30 minutes before serving.
