Well known Maharashtrin cuisine,very healthy,easy to make with ingredients easily available at home. Can be relished as snacks with tea or along with meals.
STEP 1.Firstly take gram flour & add 1 glass of water to make a paste without any lumps. Keep aside.
STEP 2.Heat 2 tbsps of oil,add in the sesame seeds,ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves & mix well. Allow to cook for 5 minutes. Now add in all the rest ingredients & keep stirring. Further add the gram flour paste & continuously keep stirring till its dried & oil leaves the sides of the vessel. Put off the flame & empty the contents into a tray or thali. Pat & press to get even surface. All to cool & set.
STEP 3.Heat oil for deep frying in a frying pan.
STEP 4.Cut the vadi into shapes you desire. Drop 5 to 8 vadi into hot oil. Turn the sides. Keep frying till golden brown in color. Remove on kitchen tissue paper. Repeat with the rest. Serve hot along with tomato ketchup.
STEP 5.These vadi can be preserved in refrigerator for a week to reuse by deep frying.
STEP 6.Serve vadi by sprinkling Chaat masala on top!
