Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, chopped coriander leaves, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt.
  • STEP 2.Add water gradually and mix well to form a thick batter.
  • STEP 3.Grease a plate or a steamer tray with oil and pour the batter onto it. Spread it evenly.
  • STEP 4.Steam the batter for about 15-20 minutes or until it becomes firm.
  • STEP 5.Allow it to cool down and then cut it into square or diamond-shaped pieces.
  • STEP 6.Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the vadi pieces until they turn golden brown and crispy on both sides.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with mint chutney or tomato ketchup.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to chop the coriander leaves finely to ensure even distribution in the vadi.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
