This is one dish i love making on weekends. Bengalis rely on quick to make but very tasty and rich lunch specialities. Here is a part of the lunch that is served often at my home, 'gurjali fish' in a sweet and sour spicy tamarind gravy.
Ingredients For Sweet and sour tamarind fish Recipe
8 piece lengthwise Gurjali fish
salt as needed
4 tablespoon mustard oil
2 medium sized onions ground to a fine paste
1 Potato
6 green chiliies
0.5 teaspoon turmeric powder
0.5 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste each
water as needed
1 teaspoon instant tamarind paste
1 teaspoon half sugar
