STEP 1.In a pot, add 2tbsp of ghee, 1cup of moong dal, 1cup of rice and roast for 4-5 minutes in low flame.
STEP 2.In a pressure cooker add these roasted ingredients, 2cups of water, 4cups of milk. Pressure cook for 6-7 whistles. Switch off flame and wait until the pressure is released. Open the pressure cooker lid, mash the rice-dal mix well.
STEP 3.In a different pot add 2tbsp of ghee, cashew nuts, raisins and fry for 2-3 minutes.
STEP 4.After that add the mashed rice-dal mix, 1cup of jaggery and a pinch of edible camphor.
STEP 5.Keep stirring the paal pongal and cook for 5 minutes and serve in a bowl.
