STEP 1. grind moong dal using a mixer grinder. dry roast the dal at medium flame for 6-7 minutes and then take it about in a plate.

STEP 1. grate khoya/mawa. soak pistachios in hot water for 5 minutes and then peel them.

STEP 1. for making sugar syrup take sugar and water in a pan and cook at medium flame until sugar melts.

STEP 1. add kesar powder, good coloring and cardamom powder to this. Mix well and turn off the flame.

STEP 1. grind the roasted moong dal to make a fine powder. put clarified ghee in a pan and add roasted grind dal to it.

STEP 1. roast it for 10 minutes and add khoya. Cook at medium for 3-4 minutes.

STEP 1. grab a baking tray and grease it with some clarified butter. pour barfi mix in a tray and spread it evenly.

STEP 1. smooth well garnish with pistachios. let it set for one hour and then cut in pieces.
