Ingredients For Milagu Keerai Poricha Kootu Recipe
2 cup Amaranth leaves chopped
0.5 cup Yellow moong dal washed
1 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Turmeric
0.5 cup Coconut fresh grated
1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
2 teaspoon Whole black pepper
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon split white urad dal
1 sprig curry leaf
Directions : Milagu Keerai Poricha Kootu Recipe
STEP 1.Into a pressure cooker add 2 cups of chopped amaranth leaves, ½ tsp salt and 2 tbsp water. Pressure cook for 1 whistle and release the pressure immediately.
STEP 2.In a pressure cooker add ½ cup washed yellow moong dal and 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp haldi and 2 cups water. Pressure cook for 4 whistles and turn off heat. Allow pressure to release naturally.
STEP 3.Add the cooked spinach to the dal and mix.
STEP 4.Into a mixer grinder, add ½ cup fresh grated coconut,1 tsp cumin seeds,2 tsp whole black pepper.Grind out a smooth paste.
STEP 5.Add the ground coconut mixture to the dal and spinach in the cooker. Mix well
STEP 6.Add ½ cup water and bring to a brosk boil for 2 minutes.
STEP 7.In a tadka pan add 1tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds, 1 tsp split white urad dal and stir till it crackles. Add 1 sprig curry leaf.
STEP 8.Pour the tadka over the keerai kootu.
STEP 9.Serve hot with rice.
