Cooking Directions

• STEP 1.Wash and soak a mixture of lentils overnight.
• STEP 2.Pressure cook the lentils until they are soft and mushy.
• STEP 3.In a pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, ginger-garlic paste, and chopped onions.
• STEP 4.Add the cooked lentils to the pan and mix well.
• STEP 5.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt to taste.
• STEP 6.Cook the dal for a few minutes until the flavors are well combined.
• STEP 7.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with papdi, sev, and chopped onions.

Cooking Tips

• You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
• For a creamier texture, you can add a dollop of ghee or butter before serving.
• You can also add a squeeze of lemon juice for an extra tangy flavor.
