Turmeric

STEP 1.Start with plucking the jute leaves from the stem. Wash them thoroughly.

STEP 1.Take the 250gms of peas split, soak them in water for 1-2hrs. Chop the onion and garlic.

STEP 1.Split the naga chili from the middle. Now take a kadai and add the soaked peas split draining the water.

STEP 1.Add 2cups of water in the kadai and cover it. Once the water dry then add more 2-3cups of water and add the half chopped onions, garlic, naga chili, 1tbsp turmeric, and salt to taste.

STEP 1.Mix them well and again cover it.

STEP 1.Meanwhile, take another kadai and pour 7-8tbsp oil add the 1tsp cumin seeds, 2-3 dried chili, the rest chopped onions and garlic, saute them until the onions become golden brown.

STEP 1.Now add the fried onion to the pea split dal and mix them well. Cover it and let it cook for more 15mins.

STEP 1.Now add the jute leave and mix thoroughly. Keep stirring them now and then and cook for another 30mins.

STEP 1.And you jute pea split dal is ready. Serve it with steamed rice.
