The fried chicken became a way of empowering these classes and the women played a major role in spreading it to the South. The women fried the chicken and served it to satisfy the hunger of passengers on the train that stopped at Gordonsville. Fried chicken is a delicious non-vegetarian snack. It is best when the skin is still fresh and crispy. Fried chicken is also known as southern fried chicken.
