Directions : Bengali Lau Dei Tetor Dal Recipe

STEP 1.In a pressure cooker add 1 cup washed yellow moong dal, 1 cup bottle gourd diced,1 inch ginger finely chopped, 2 inch green chillies slit, ½ tsp turmeric, salt to taste, 1 tsp sugar, 3 cups of water. Mix the ingredients. Pressure cook for 3 whistles and allow the pressure to release naturally.

STEP 2.In a preheated pan and 2 tbsp mustard oil, ½ tsp cumin, 1 slit green chilli and roast for a few seconds.

STEP 3.Add 1 bitter gourd cut into circular slices.sprinkle salt and cover and cook for about 5 minutes.

STEP 4.Next add the cooked dal and gourd.mix together well. Add ½ cup water to adjust consistency and give it a brisk boil. Dal is ready.
