Malpua, for those untouched by the phenomenon, is a deep-fried Indian pancake that is dripping of sugar syrup. It is believed that the malpua gets its name from the apupa which finds traces in 3000 year old Vedic scriptures. A simple combination of honey and barley has become a delectable dessert today. It is popular in Bihari and Bengali cultures and is also treated as the oldest dessert of India. The crunchy malpua is often served with a slathering of rabdi. The malpua is also one of the basic desserts of festivities like Holi. Filled with nuts, khoya and all things delicious, malpua is savoured across the country. A very delicious popular dessert prepared from white flour & milk, it is traditionally a ight sweet preparation which can be referred to as the Indian pancake. Malpuas are soft and fluffy, coated in sugar syrup and served with delicious rabdi over it. These would be a delight to eat after a hearty meal.
