Cooking Directions

• STEP 1.Soak urad dal in water for a few hours and then grind it into a smooth batter.
• STEP 2.Add spices like cumin seeds, chopped green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves to the batter.
• STEP 3.Heat oil in a deep pan and shape the batter into small round discs with a hole in the center.
• STEP 4.Carefully drop the vadas into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy.
• STEP 5.Serve hot with coconut chutney and sambar.

• Make sure the urad dal batter is smooth and fluffy for a light and crispy vada.
• Adding a pinch of baking soda to the batter helps in making the vadas fluffy.
