STEP 1.in a large bowl marinate the duck in salt turmeric and lemon juice for 1 to 2 hours.

STEP 1. wash and cut 6 to 8 potatoes in halves.

STEP 1. in a deep pan, heat a few tsp of mustard oil and add 1 tsp panch furon, 2 to 3 dry red chilies and 2 to 3 bay leaves.

STEP 1.when browned add 2 cups onion ginger garlic paste. Saute on medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes. Add salt and 1 tsp turmeric powder and mix well.

STEP 1.next add 1 kg marinated duck and cook on high flame for 15 to 20 minutes.

STEP 1. add 1 tsp meat masala, 1 tsp cumin carom powder, 1 tsp black pepper powder and mix well. Then add 3 to 4 green chilies. Optionally add a few tsp red chili paste.

STEP 1.add 6 to 8 potatoes halved and stir them into the curry. Cook on medium flame for 10 minutes.

STEP 1. then add 1 cup of water and cover the vessel. Cook for 15 minutes on medium heat. Check the curry, stirring intermittently.

STEP 1.continue cooking for upto 45 minutes. Add 3 cardamom and 3 sticks of cinnamon ground. Stir and cook for 15 minutes.
STEP 1.10 mash some potatoes in the gravy.
STEP 2.11 duck curry with potatoes is ready.
STEP 3.12 serve hot with steamed rice.
