We have all done this at least once, we’ve seen tofu on a plate and mistaken it for paneer. In terms of appearance, it does bear an uncanny resemblance with paneer, and just like paneer, it is also a byproduct of milk, but not your regular cow or buffalo milk. It is yielded from soy milk, making is vegan and ideal for those who are swearing off meat and are looking for commendable protein source. Tofu is used extensively in Asian cuisine such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean, but they sit very well in Indian preparations too. Here are a few examples.
