This recipe is a Bengali traditional sweet dish specially made during festivals.Crisp, Flaky and extremely delicious sweet made with a combination of flours, ghee and nuts.Easy and quick to prepare.Prepare in less time.
STEP 2.Take a kadai, add 2 cups of sugar and 1 ½ cup of water and stir it.
STEP 3.Keep stirring until the sugar melts down.
STEP 4.Now add 8 green cardamoms and let the aroma enhance.
STEP 5.Once it has done turn off the gas and keep it aside. It should be a semi-thick consistency.
STEP 6.Dough
STEP 7.In a big bowl, 2 cups refined flour/maida,½ tsp baking powder, and 1 tbsp salt and 4-5tbsp of soya oil mix it carefully without making any lumps. Add water to balance the consistency.
STEP 8.Add the 1tbsp black caraway and keep kneading them.
STEP 9.Make a thick dough and cover it with a damp cloth. And keep it for 20mins
STEP 10.After 20 mins take a spoonful of dough and circle them. Repeat the same until it’s done.
STEP 11.Take a waffle bell and the circle dough, add little bit maida on the waffle bell and make a roti, keep doing the same.
STEP 12.Now the crucial step, take one of the roti and brush some oil then add another roti and brush some oil make 4 such layers for each.
STEP 13.Now roll them and cut them into small pieces. Keep them aside for more 15-20 mins.
STEP 14.Now take each piece in the waffle bell and make a blunt rectangular shape.
STEP 15.Repeat the same for all.(you can make other shapes if you want).
STEP 16.Take a kadai to pour the right amount of oil and deep fry all the rectangular pieces.
STEP 17.In the same kadai add the sugar syrup and the fried papri’s.
STEP 18.Keep mixing them until the sugar syrup is stuck with the papri’s.
STEP 19.Serve it with some condensed milk.
