There are some days when you feel lazy and don't want to cook much.  Such gloomy days make you feel like eating something comforting which is easy and quick to make. What's better than a potato when it comes to being comfort food. Potato is a vegetable that is liked by everyone around the world and is something which can be paired with anything to create an exotic dish. The word potato comes from the Spanish word patata (the name used in Spain). According to the Royal Spanish Academy, the Spanish name is across from Tano batata (sweet potato) and Quechua papa (potato). Although the two plants are not closely related, the term originally referred to the sweet potato. Sweet potatoes were referred to as common potatoes by the 16th-century. English herbalist John Gerard used the terms bastard potatoes and Virginia potatoes for the species we now call potato.
