Sooji Balls is a quick breakfast recipe prepared by steaming semolina-based balls. The main ingredients of this recipe are sooji, chana dal, and chopped chili. Easy and tasty prepared within minutes.
STEP 1.Roast semolina on low flame for 2-3 minutes and keep aside.
STEP 2.In a pot, heat 3 tsp oil and add 1 chilli, 1 inch ginger, saute.
STEP 3.Pour in 2½ cup water, add ½ tsp salt and ¼ cup coconut.
STEP 4.Mix everything well, get the water to boil.
STEP 5.Keeping the flame on low, start adding roasted semolina slowly, stir continuously.
STEP 6.Cover and cook for 3 minutes, the mix has started to absorb water.
STEP 7.Then knead the dough for 5 minutes and prepare small balls.
STEP 8.Steam the semolina balls for 10 minutes and keep aside.
STEP 9.In a different pot heat 3 tsp oil and add 1 tsp mustard seeds, ½ tsp of cumin, ½ tsp chana dal, ½ tsp of urad dal, cashew nuts and curry leaves, give the tempering a mix.
STEP 11.Add prepared semolina balls and mix gently.
STEP 12.Before turning off the stove add 2 tbsp coriander and 2 tsp lemon juice.
STEP 13.Mix everything gently and serve on a plate and enjoy.
