2 Tbsp olive oil 🫒
1 Nos Medium onion chopped
3 Nos Cloves garlic minced
400 g 2 can crushed tomatoes
1 Tbsp Tomato paste -
1 Tsp Dried oregano
1 Tsp Dried basil
0.5 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes For Garnish
As required Salt and pepper to taste
1 Tsp Sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes
As required Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
As required Grated parmesan cheese for serving, optional

How to Make Spaghetti Sauce

STEP 1.In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for about 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, just until fragrant. The kitchen will start smelling amazing at this point!

STEP 1.Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Let everything simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. This is where the sauce starts to thicken and develop that rich flavor.

STEP 2.Add a teaspoon of sugar to balance the acidity of the tomatoes. Taste your sauce and adjust the seasoning if needed. If you like it spicier, add a pinch more red pepper flakes. Let the sauce simmer for another 5 minutes, then remove it from the heat.

STEP 3.Serve your spaghetti sauce over freshly cooked spaghetti or your favorite pasta. Garnish with fresh basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for that extra Italian touch. Enjoy!
