Cooking Directions

STEP 1.Peel the green plantains and cut them into thick slices.
STEP 2.Fry the plantain slices in hot oil until they are golden and crispy.
STEP 3.Remove the fried plantain slices from the oil and flatten them using a tostonera or the bottom of a glass.
STEP 4.Fry the flattened plantain slices again until they are crispy and golden brown.
STEP 5.Remove the tostones from the oil and drain them on a paper towel.
STEP 6.Sprinkle the tostones with salt and serve them hot with your favorite dip or sauce.

Storage and Serving

Crispy Salted Tostones are best served hot and fresh.
