Crispy fried beef tossed in a delicious sweet and spicy chilli and orange flavoured sauce.Perfect crispy strips of beef in a tangy spicy sauce. This is my favourite dish from the Chinese takeaway, so it has a lot to live up to.
STEP 1.1 place 250 gm rump steak cut into thin strips in a mixing bowl, add 4 tbsp corn flour, salt to taste and mix till beef is well coated. Keep aside.
STEP 2.2 in a saucepan add 90 ml orange juice, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp tabasco sauce, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 4 tbsp sweet chilli sauce, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp water . Stir the mixture and bring to boil.
STEP 3.3 then reduce the heat to low and simmer until the sauce thickens.
STEP 4.4 in a wok heat ½ ltr oil for deep frying, add the beef to the hot oil and fry for 5 minutes till beef is crispy and golden.
STEP 5.5 then remove the beef and drain. Arrange the beef in a plate.
STEP 6.6 once the sauce has thickened turn the heat to high , add sugar and stir. Turn off the heat.
STEP 7.7 pour the sauce over the beef, garnish with sesame seeds and serve.
