‘Jack of all trades, master of none’ is a popular phrase. But when it comes to Diljit Dosanjh, we feel that he has managed to master it all! While he is already well-known for his singing and acting talent, the Punjabi celebrity has now entered the culinary space too. In recent times, the singing sensation has been getting a lot of attention on social media, thanks to his funny and relatable cooking reels.
During the lockdown, when everyone was heading to the kitchen to grab the spatula and reign the art of cooking, Diljit followed too. While he did not make the clichéd Dalgona coffee and other viral food recipes, he definitely showcased his talent by cooking regular vegetables, chicken and more. However, it isn’t just cooking but the background commentary that won hearts all around the world.
Recently, the Ikk Kudi singer was seen making a soya dish on his Instagram stories and left netizens in splits. His Sunday cooking session was all about making a delicious soya chilli while entertaining his followers. He began by showing us his boiled soya chunks which he referred to as ‘lutry’. Then, we saw him adding lots of spices to the soya, including red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Amazed by the colourful appearance, he goes on to say, ‘rang birang dekho’.
After adding some kasoori methi to this, he takes another pan where he adds onions and other spices, and says, “Kithey millions, kithey onions”. While stirring this, he adds the ‘sexy’ ginger-garlic paste to the soya chunks for marination. Finally, he throws in the soya in the prepared masala. After cooking it for a few minutes, he garnishes it with freshly chopped coriander leaves and writes, “This is called Sexy Lutry”.
The hilarious captions and background commentary make his cooking experiments even more fun to watch while teaching his fans yummy recipes from Diljit’s kitchen. His cooking talent is no longer a secret, hidden from the world and we’re just waiting for the day when he starts his own cooking show too.
