Cooking Directions

• STEP 1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes. Drain the water and grind the rice to a coarse paste.
• STEP 2.In a pan, heat milk and bring it to a boil. Add the ground rice paste and cook on low heat, stirring continuously.
• STEP 3.Add sugar and saffron strands to the mixture and cook until the phirni thickens.
• STEP 4.Remove from heat and let it cool. Once cooled, pour the phirni into individual serving bowls.
• STEP 5.Garnish with chopped nuts like almonds and pistachios. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
