Spiced Simple Syrup Recipe

This spiced simple syrup is a riff on a classic simple syrup. Cardamom, cinnamon, star anise, ginger, peppercorns, and fennel seeds instill the spicy notes. Our simple syrup will take a bit more time than the classic version that only includes sugar and water but, we can assure you, your cocktails will thank you. After simmering, be sure to cool to room temperature before straining the mixture with a wire-mesh strainer. The syrup will keep in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Use spiced simple syrup in our spiced hard cider fizz. Its a festive fall drink that is perfectly suited to be the signature cocktail at your thanksgiving dinner.
