Directions : King Cake Recipe

step 1

STEP 1.Prepare a yeast mixture in sugar and flour. Keep aside. Keep for 30 minutes.

STEP 1.For dough in another bowl add crystallized fruits, raisins, lemon and orange peels, wine and rum. Leave soaked.

STEP 2.Take another bowl and beat butter in it, add sugar, and make smooth. Beat eggs and yolks at sometime and little flour. Now add milk and yeast mixture. Add almonds, walnuts and pine nuts.

STEP 3.Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

STEP 4.Take the dough and knead for 1 minute. Using thumbs make a belly in the middle and grease.

STEP 5.Top the crust with few crystallized fruits and beat eggs and brush the crust. Keep in preheated 190 degrees and for 40 minutes or golden brown. Top with icing.
