Cookies are an easy to make snack or a dessert. Everyone likes themselves some really crunchy, melt in the mouth cookie. But not everyone knows how to get them perfect if you do not have an oven and have to make do with a microwave in the house. Although it is a huge myth that microwave cannot make cookies at good as the oven. If you know the tips and tricks to make it perfectly, your cookies made in the microwave will taste exactly like the professional store-bought ones. they might even taste as good as the ones that fancy bakeries make.

 

But you need to know the correct proportions and the correct time limit along with the right temperature if you are making cookies in your microwave. Other than that, a very important factor is how good your microwave is. A device with good specifications and efficient temperature control can actually help a lot if you are new to baking. So, here is a very simple butter cookie recipe that you can try at home if you have a microwave.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups maida
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • ½ slab of butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method 

  • Take a large mixing bowl and sift the maida along with icing sugar really well. 
  • Next, melt the vegetable shortening and the butter together and mix them.
  • Slowly mix the molten mixture along with the dry ingredients and make a dough.
  • Knead the dough till you have a soft one that still manages to retain its shape.
  • You can Preheat the microwave to 180 degrees.
  • Next, make small balls and press them a little to make cookie shapes.
  • Press as many chocolate chips you want on top of your cookies.
  • Put these cookies on a flat baking tray and put them inside the microwave.
  • Make sure there is enough place between two cookies so that when they expand while baking, they do not touch each other.
  • Bake them for 15 to 16 minutes and then switch off the microwave.
  • Let the cookies stay in the heat of the microwave for a couple more minutes and then remove them.

Allow the cookies to reach room temperature and then store them in a jar that you like.
