    While lemon and ginger are often made into a hot brew, this iced tea recipe soothes the soul

    The increasing attention towards health, fitness, and dietary patterns has shifted the focus to detox diets and drinks. You’ll find a plethora of such concoctions that combine a variety of ingredients to give one’s body the relief it deserves. Come summers, the hot brews become very difficult to drink. One goes in the search of colder and refreshing options like lemonade and iced teas.

    While many of them are filled with preservatives and loaded with sugar, there are some that are light, breezy, and healthy. Different kinds of teas come packed with diverse ingredients that are suitable for a certain season. Now that hot beverages like tea become difficult to drink, how about making a chilled iced tea with it. At a recently held tea-tasting session, a wellness brand called Shistaka launched their own tea varieties serving different purposes, based on a vast study of Ayurveda and the benefits of each ingredient.

    A lemon and ginger iced tea is one of the best offerings this summer. While lemon is loaded with Vitamin C and is known to boost immunity, ginger is a great pain reliever for sore throats and also helps in improving digestive health. The good part is that it is a hassle-free preparation with ingredients easily available. During the hot summer months, it helps to keep the body cool and reduces inflammation too. Here is a recipe for lemon ginger iced tea that you should try at home.  

    Ingredients:  

        Lemon-ginger tea mix  

        ½ tsp organic honey  

        Ice cubes  

        Fresh mint leaves  

    Lemon Ginger Iced Tea 

    Method:  

        Infuse the lemon ginger iced tea in lukewarm water.  

        Remove the tea bag after brewing it for 3 to 4 minutes.  

        Add half a teaspoon of organic honey and let it cool for a couple of minutes.  

        Then, shake the tea with ice in a shaker and serve it chilled with mint leaves on top for garnish.  

        Relax and enjoy a refreshing boost of zesty lemon and spicy ginger for a happy gut.
