Cove is located in central Kolkata, Ho Chi Minh Sarani, where colonial heritage mixes in harmony with the city’s modern culture. From museums to nightlife hotspots, the area comes alive after dark, with Cove adding a high-energy dining and cocktail destination. The restaurant delivers an experience that perfectly captures the essence of the neighbourhood. The facility, which is 4,000 square feet in size and can accommodate 130 people, is carefully divided between three immersive areas. Cove, drawing its design lexicon from the mystique of Turkish Cappadocia caves, introduces a rarefied and immersive spatial experience to Kolkata’s perennially animated Park Street. Its grotto-like interiors, articulated through sinuous contours, earthen textures and chiaroscuro lighting, create an atmosphere that is at once intimate and transportive, offering a compelling counterpoint to the city’s conventional urban lounges.

Effortlessly mitigating the boundary between indoors and outdoors, The High-Energy Core, a spacious main floor intended for unbridled celebration, is Cove's pulsing heart. The Director's Den, a VIP lounge for individuals wishing for exclusivity without leaving the action, is located over this area. The resident DJ booth, the vibrant centre that drives the beat of each evening, is anchored here. Next to this is The Magnificent Bar & Social Hub, a haven where visitors congregate around an exquisite bar to savour international cuisine and custom cocktails. Completing the zone is the Private Dining Room (PDR), a private, completely adjustable area that can accommodate a private DJ, a private bar, and customised meals for small gatherings.

Under the direction of its creators, Aditya Kumar Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, and Ambrish Agarwal, the restaurant offers a revolving schedule of Sunday brunches, drunches, and special evenings and themed soirées. The brand also serves important leaders, business gentry between the ages of 30 and 50, and Kolkata's Established Vanguard.

Now, Kolkata cannot do without food; everyone knows that. Cove knows that, too. And when it comes to new cuisines, Kolkata will always grasp it and latch onto it. With Cove, Kolkata now serves up creative and top-tier Turkish cuisine, cocktails, mocktails and desserts, served ever so elegantly. The menu is loaded with veggies, luscious fruits, dairy, eggs, and farm-fresh meats. Turkish cuisine is prepared in large quantities for sharing with others, which is a deeply rooted concept that runs throughout the entire nation, and Cove brings it to the city of joy.  HT Slurrp had the chance to venture into the caves and dig into the food, and here’s a rundown of what made it toe-tickling.

Turkish Accents On A Plate

Cove's culinary program has its roots in international cuisine, and its menu combines comfort, artistry, and seasonal freshness. From the Beetroot Corn Cream Dim Sum with cream cheese, water chestnut, and sweet corn to the Chevre presented with cherry tomato ragout and crispy bread, the appetisers set the mood with their bright flavours. The golden, herb-coated crunch of the Semolina Fried Bhetki provides a hint of the coast.

The Orzo Lentil Soup, where a delicately simmered tomato and vegetable broth is infused with brown lentils, orzo pasta, and the gentle smokiness of paprika is a new taste on the palate. The starters curate a thoughtful interplay between restraint and indulgence, spanning from flaky, oven-baked spanakopita encasing a luscious filling of feta and spinach, to classic Turkish eggs, poised atop a silken bed of garlic yoghurt, accented with crisp chilli oil and fresh mint, alongside indulgent crispy kataifi prawns, fried to a golden hue and finished with a drizzle of hot honey!

Keep your appetite big since Cove offers Asian dishes as well that are equally mouth-watering. From Korean Chicken Bulgogi to Sticky Blue Pea Fried Rice with Yellow Thai Curry, which has some crispy undertones, goes nicely with the creamy, warming, and spice-balanced yellow Thai curry. If you’re looking for something from Italy, Capellini Silky Aglio e Olio substitutes the traditional spaghetti with its finer relative, capellini, which is slathered with a mixture of garlic, olive oil, chilli flakes, and parsley before being garnished with Parmesan.

And ofcourse, every meal ends with desserts. Cove has three signature desserts that can be shared, or if you’re someone who enjoys being on a dessert high, it’s all yours to devour. The Kunafa, a crisp and cheesy Middle Eastern pastry combined with nutty pistachio ice cream, provides a textural contrast and a suitable conclusion for a traditional sweet treat.

Since it is intended to be a community bar, a carefully chosen drink menu is essential to the experience. There is something for every taste at Cove thanks to its wide and varied selection. The beverage menu, which is arguably the first of its kind in the city, adds a vibrant, social vibe to the table, enhancing the food and the eating experience as a whole.

The same colour pattern is used in the bar area as well. The area is perfect for parties because of the lights, which change colour from neon blue to red to bright green. To create the illusion of a real cave, light fixtures resembling craters are even installed in the ceilings. Getting started with a Paloma Milk Punch immediately reveals how the inventive take on the Paloma consists of a blend of tequila, grapefruit juice, cumin, black salt, and milk clarified, creating a crisp beverage that will offer you a zingy impression.

A refreshing and easy-to-palpate beverage, Cool & Curious is a herbaceous and effervescent cocktail made with gin, cucumber, mint, and dill. Meanwhile, Umami Sour is upgraded to include whisky infused with shiitake mushrooms, house-made red wine, apricot cordial, and vanilla truffle oil. A sophisticated, unusual drink. The bar functions as a contemporary cocktail oasis where patrons may savour best-selling trademark drinks, custom cocktails, and a carefully chosen menu of vegan, gluten-free, and healthful food alternatives.
