Where To Drink Craft Beer In Bengaluru This Summer

A hot day makes you feel tired. It is really important to be hydrated in summer. Taste and smell play an important role in how one is feeling. In summer, an individual should eat light and surround themselves with refreshing smells. Beers are something that makes you feel refreshed. So, how about some fresh craft beers? For those who do not know what a craft beer is, it is a type of beer that is made in a traditional or non-mechanised way by a small brewery, and the story of craft beer is linked to the story of America’s broken love affair with suds.

Flavoured with fruits and different ingredients, beers rejuvenate you. The only condition is that one should have beers that are made with utmost precision. Breweries in Bengaluru are places where you can turn for craft beers if it’s your first time trying them. As you know, Bengaluru has good weather, socialising, clubbing, culinary events, and everything in the city is hard to miss! If you miss, you’ll suffer from FOMO for sure. With the demand for craft beer increasing, Bengaluru has become a hub for these breweries. So, if you’re eager to expand your beer horizons and explore new flavours, read on for your list of the top craft beer spots in the city.

Windmills Craftworks

If you require a cosy restaurant in Whitefield, where you can enjoy a meal by candlelight while sipping on hand-crafted beers and listening to soothing music, look no further than Windmills Craftworks. Craft brews inspired by classic wheat beers, like the German hefeweizen variety, are a hit with the locals. There is a wide variety of craft beers available, such as the Hefeweizen, Golden Ale, Stout, and a couple of really good IPAs.  And while you’re drinking the craft beers, one dish that this place has customers coming back for is their mutton biryani. This is a beautiful variation of the Awadhi biriyani, which is finer than the Hyderabadi variety they serve, despite having Mughal roots. Perfectly cooked mutton with the meat gently sliding off the bone and having thoroughly absorbed all the spices. What an elite combo!

Toit

Toit, in Bangalore's lively Indiranagar neighbourhood, has been the city's trendiest watering spot for years. This brewery's rustic interior (exposed brick and wooden floors) and flavorful tropical and citrus artisan brews have earned it a loyal following across India. The best beer in Toit is the Toit Weiss, which you must have if you ever find yourself there. There are some items you really must try at this well-known microbrewery and bar, even though the atmosphere, concept, and beers are enough to keep the crowds coming. For appetisers and to go with your beer, pick from the Toit section or The Permit Room section, where you should pick Okra Podi Chips and Andhra Chilli Chicken.

BierGarten

Over two stories and 14,000 square feet of open-air seating, BierGarten in Koramangala (and now in Whitefield) is a major hit thanks to an atmosphere that's ideal for the city's pleasant climate. There are seven or eight different beers on tap, and the typical German-style Hefeweizen, dark Dunkel, and Amber Lager are all favourites among patrons.  Order up some Mezzi platter, Jerk Spiced Cottage cheese, and Rosemary poutine. The lavash is crispy and pita bread is perfectly soft. The hummus and babaganoush are perfectly prepared. Its wide range of meals, which include Chinese, North Indian, Continental, and other delicacies, is equally impressive. There are lots of greens throughout, creating a revitalising atmosphere. It's also really roomy and has lots of seats, so you can dine comfortably.

The Byg Brewski Beer Company

This spot in Hennur is another top pick; it is one of the best microbreweries in the city, featuring a garden with a Japanese Koi pond and an outside seating space. All their beers are a hit with customers, but if you want a recommendation, it would be the Byg Triple. The other pillars that support this establishment and give it a higher stature than the rest are, of course, the food. Everything is deliciously tasty, from their freshly brewed beers to their vegetarian appetisers, which outdo the non-veg ones. They offer a lunch buffet on weekends, and the cost varies depending on the bundle you select.

The Biere Club

Hopheads have been flocking to The Biere Club in Bangalore since it first debuted in 2010. Lagers, ales, stouts, wheats, and more may be found here, but the stout with a coffee flavour stands out. The Biere Club's always-changing craft scene, where brewing is more than simply a process, it's pure creative flex, is at the heart of its conduct. The team is always experimenting with strong tastes, unusual ingredients, and novel styles, releasing limited-edition and seasonal brews that are equal parts global craft energy and local inspiration. The Biere Club, which is situated at Lavelle Road and HSR Layout, is still bringing its classic yet modern beer culture to various Bengaluru neighbourhoods. The menu offers beer-friendly foods with recognisable, cosy flavours that are carefully balanced, staying loyal to its origins.

Geist Brewing Co

You've probably already had one of the hallmark craft beers from Geist, one of Bengaluru's original brewers. Having said that, the new location on Old Madras Road adds a second bonus of pleasant atmosphere to the mix, beneath the canopy of a banyan tree. You're in for a beer treat because not only do they serve all of Geist's signatures on tap, but they also serve an IPA (Geist Kamacitra), a Weiss Guy (Geist Weiss Guy) and a German Lager (Geist Lager). You can’t go wrong with any of those. The first commercial craft brewery in South India, Geist Brewing Co., was established in 2006 by classmates Narayan Manepally and Paul Chowdhary. The idea that great beer is superior to everything else is at the core of its philosophy. The brand started off by testing test batches in a little basement with the goal of guaranteeing the highest level of freshness from the very first sip. Today, it operates a sprawling 10,000 sq. ft. factory where its experienced team brews a variety of international craft beer styles, including wheat beers, IPAs, stouts, lagers, and more.

Indian Craft Brewery

ICB is a two-acre microbrewery with 1,500 seats that is situated in Manyata Tech Park, Nagavara's economic sector. The microbrewery has created a distinctively Indian food and beverage experience that distinguishes it from other microbreweries in India by drawing inspiration from the country's rich culinary flavours, local ingredients, and traditional brewing traditions. This assortment includes ciders that are easy to drink and IPAs that are robust enough to suit any mood. While Malgudi Ale offers rich Alphonso mango sweetness counterbalanced by mild bitterness, Ale is Well offers a citrussy, piney hop punch with a crisp finish. It's ideal for spicy dishes since El Chamraj keeps it light and refreshing. Huligun has flavours of juicy Belgian yeast and is robust yet delicate. Rowdy Stout is rich with chocolatey, creamy depth, while Happyweizen gives traditional banana-clove warmth. Nandi Nectar gives fragrant honeyed sweetness, and Wit Maga is zesty and refreshing. Rasella Cider completes it; it's fruity, fresh, and palate-cleansing, perfect for light bits or bold, savoury foods.
