Actor Shahid Kapoor who would be seen in the Hindi adaptation of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Jersey’ is busy promoting the same. While Shahid’s ‘Jersey’ finally releases on the coming Friday, ahead of the release, he had his in-laws visiting from Delhi. Shahid tied the knot with Mira Kapoor in 2015. Mira’s parents Vikram and Bela Rajput landed in Mumbai a couple of days ago and their doting daughter Mira is trying her best to ensure that they have the best time in the city, for instance, treating them with some delicious food. A few days ago, Mira’s father indulged in some Mumbai-special Pav Bhaji. On Sunday, the entire family including Shahid Kapoor, Mira Kapoor, Neelima Azim, Ishaan Khatter, Vikram and Bela Rajput sat down for a lavish “feast”.

In her story she posted on Sunday, Mira gave us a quick sneak peak of the menu, which comprises south Indian favourites such as soft and fluffy rice idlis, crispy medu vadas, coconut chutney and spicy tomato chutney. In the next story, she also posted an image of a delicious cake. Filled with fresh fruits and cream, the cake looked every bit tempting, but what stole the limelight was the cute message on the cake. “Best Nana Nani in the world”, the message read. We believe it was from Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor for their grandparents, isn’t that so cute?

South Indian cuisines is inarguably one of the most beloved cuisines of the country. It is wide, versatile and oh-so-flavourful. A lot of the items are also super healthy and often recommended by many nutritionists too, for instance, the idli. It is steamed and fermented, making it goof for weight-loss and gut. Having said that, idlis can be super indulgent too satisfying your most decadent cravings. Here are 3 Idli recipes you must try soon.

Podi Idli: Podi is a fiery, powdery spicy blend that has a bit of nuttiness to it too. Another name for Podi is gun powder, so one can tell that it is quite intense. Podi Idli is Idli served in this powder, with sambar and chutney.

Thatte Idli: ‘Thatte’ means a plate. Instead of regular idli moulds, this idli is steamed in small plates, which gives this idli its characteristic ‘plate-like’ shape and size.

Oats Idli: Idli can be of any shape and size, in fact, you can even experiment with its batter. This oats batter replaces the traditional rice batter, giving this idli a healthier edge. A wholesome breakfast option you can try.
