A snack is now anything. It may be as complex as a platter of chicken tikka masala or as straightforward as a bag of chips. But all snacks share one thing in common: they are all wonderful! Delicious snacks are something we never have enough of. For this reason, we have provided a recipe for fried masala rice flakes, a delicious snack that is also really simple to create. This recipe, a modern take on a classic street meal, can be made in under ten minutes.

Ingredients:

  1. 250g Thick Poha (Rice Flakes)
  2. 60g Groundnuts (1/4 Cup)
  3. 60g Sliced Dry Coconut
  4. 20g Curry Leaves
  5. 40g Finely Chopped Garlic
  6. 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  7. 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  8. Salt to taste
  9. 2 tsp Sugar

Method for Preparation:

  1. Heat some oil in a pan. Keep the given amount of poha ready aside
  2. When the oil has been heated properly, take a sieve and try to add a little a smuch poha to it
  3. Place the sieve in the hot oil placed on the gas stove
  4. The poha starts to get fuller by frying
  5. Take all the poha fried in a pan and let it cool for few times
  6. Now it’s time to get the other ingredients ready
  7. Now take the ground nuts as per the ingredients and try to fry it properly adding smaller amount one by one. Keep aside
  8. Now take the given amount of dry coconut in the sieve and try to fry it like we did the other ingredients. Never forget to keep the flame low. The coconut slices are very thin, it can’t get burnt with hot oil
  9. Now take the given amount of curry leaves and try it properly
  10. Keep all the other ingredients in different bowls
  11. Now it’s time to fry the finely chopped garlic
  12. Fry the chopped garlic until they become brown and keep aside
  13. Now add all the fried ingredients together and add given amount of red chilli powder, turmeric, salt and sugar to it. Mix altogether

Now the fried rice flakes are ready to serve with chai or coffee.

We may easily prepare the fried rice flakes at home with joy and love as a snack that can be stored.
