With the FIFA World Cup 2022 fever going on for days now, there are a host of people cheering for their favourite teams at home and inside the stadium in Qatar. It came as a surprise when we found out that Ananya Panday is a football fan too, as she went all the way to Doha to watch the semi-final match between Argentina and Croatia.
Accompanied by her father Chunky Panday, friend Shanaya Kapoor, along with Sanjay Kapoor and Jahaan Kapoor, Ananya seemed quite elated after watching the entire match. She posted a reel capturing the best moments from her trip and amid that, we caught her eating a delicious Middle Eastern delicacy. What was it? Well, we’re guessing it is called Boureka - a kind of puff pastry that was brought by the Turks, but gradually became a favourite in the Middle East.

Boureka, for the unversed, comes from a Turkish word, ‘boerek’, which refers to a filled dough. Generally stuffed with lamb meat, the puff pastry is either baked, steamed or fried. Ananya was seen biting into this yummy puff pastry, which was oozing with a meaty filling. It was definitely a very tempting sight, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Ananya hog on food on a trip. Earlier this year, when she was on a vacation in Italy, she made the most of her time by relishing Lemon Sorbet.
Not just while travelling, a couple of weeks ago, she was busy cheating on her diet on a lazy Sunday afternoon. She was spotted at Subko Coffee Roasters (a coffee shop in Bandra) that makes baked delights. She enjoyed a cup of creamy coffee with a side of cheesy pizza from there.
