Craving For Dessert? Try This Monte Carlo Recipe

Desserts are instant mood lifters. There is nothing that a good dessert cannot just solve. Be it rich Indian sweets, laden with mava, chhena, dry fruits and desi ghee or be it classic desserts like cakes, pastries and ice cream, they are the food items we fall back upon when we seek comfort. Moreover, nothing screams festivity like eating desserts even after stuffing our faces with food. While they are the ultimate comfort food without a doubt, sometimes we stop shy of making our favourite desserts at home. Why is it so?

Sometimes, we think that fancy looking dessert we have at our favourite café would be too difficult to make and would take too much time to prepare. Other times, we tend to think the materials required to make the dessert might be out of our budget and it would not be worth spending it on ingredients rather than on the pre-made perfect dessert. But this is what we attempt to change with a very simple and affordable recipe for one of the most sought-after desserts. We are talking about the creamy and delicious monte carlo dessert. It really is the dessert of our dreams. Let us see how we can easily assemble the dessert and enjoy large servings of it in our house.

  • 1 tub vanilla ice cream 
  • 1 packet of hide and seek biscuit 
  • 1 cup of chocolate syrup 
  • 2 cups of whipped cream 
  • ½ cup cashews 
  • 1/2 cup sugar 
  • Milk for dipping 
  • Chocolate brownies 
  • Chocochips

Method

  • Pour water in a pan and heat it. Now add sugar into it. 
  • When the sugar caramelizes completely, add the cashew nuts. 
  • Take it off the heat and pour the mixture on a butter paper to let it cool down. 
  • For the chocolate ganache, put the chocolate syrup and the cream in a microwave oven safe utensil. 
  • Melt and mix them both in the oven together and keep it aside. 
  • Meanwhile, when the cashew and sugar mixture cools down, break it into small pieces. 
  • Now, start the layering by dipping the hide and seek biscuits in the milk. 
  • Take a wide dish and start placing the dipped biscuits on it. 
  • Next, add a thick layer of vanilla ice cream and spread it all over. 
  • The next layer will be the chocolate ganache, of which a medium layer goes in. 
  • Crumble the chocolate bvrownies and add another layer. 
  • Now, sprinkle the broken cashew praline. 
  • Repeat the layers in the same order. The last layer should be a thick chocolate ganache with praline on top. 
  • Place the dish in a freezer and keep it overnight or atleast 4-5 hours. 

Serve chilled and enjoy the creamiest as well the easiest monte carlo which neither carves a hole in your pocket, nor does it take up too much of your time. Make a large batch and enjoy this tasty dessert for a week!
