There are days when you are in no mood to make an elaborate breakfast. You just want something quick and hassle-free. So what can it be? Well, we’re guessing it could be eggs. From scrambled to boiled and poached, there are many ways to prepare your eggs for breakfast, and you can never get bored of them. Just make a rotational chart every week, and you are sorted.

A great source of protein and a powerhouse of energy, these eggs don’t just have taste but nutritional value too. Another great thing about this food item is that it can be paired with breads, salads, and much more. So without further ado, here’s how you can make eggs for breakfast at home in the best possible ways.

1.     Scrambled Eggs

The British love their scrambled eggs more than anyone. The simple trick to making these creamy eggs is to toss the eggs in milk and butter and cook them on medium heat for some time. Keep scrambling so that they don’t stick to the bottom of the pan. This is good to go as it is, or you can simply pair it with a slice of bread. If you want to make a slightly different kind of scrambled egg, try Akuri, a Parsi-style egg dish with a lot more flavour than the usual ones.

2.     Sunny-Side Up Eggs

As the name suggests, sunny-side up gives you a runny, bright yellow egg yolk at the top with the egg whites crispy and slightly brown on the edges. The yolk is creamy, while the egg whites are soft and crispy at the same time. Top it on an avocado toast and relish the flavours to the fullest.

3.     Over Easy Eggs

Wondering what that is? Well, yes, they are quite easy to make, but the over-easy eggs are a slightly more cooked version of the sunny-side up. In this case, for all those who don’t like their yolks very runny, you can cook the sunny side too. It is basically about cooking the eggs on both sides so that the egg white is fully cooked and the yolk is slightly runny.

4.     Poached Eggs

This is an interesting way of making eggs that requires some skills; you will need eggs, distilled white vinegar, and salt. The water is boiled in a pot, brought down to a simmer, and given a swirl with the spoon to create a whirl before cracking open the eggs and dropping them in to cook well while staying in shape. Distilled white vinegar makes the egg whites firmer. Once done, they are carefully removed with a spoon and placed on the dish to be served. When you slice them through, the egg yolks are super runny. A popular kind of poached egg is the Turkish cilbir, which places the poached eggs on a bed of garlicky and herb-infused yoghurt.

5.     Omelette

For those of you who like vegetables with their eggs, opt for an omelette. It is a delicious way to whip egg whites and yolks together, spruce them up with salt and spices, and fill with chopped veggies like onions, tomatoes, coriander leaves, etc. In Goa, omelettes are a popular breakfast dish and street snack known as ros omelettes, where the omelettes are dunked in a thick coconut and tomato gravy that are best eaten with pav. There are various kinds of omelettes that incorporate cheese, mushrooms, bacon, etc., which make for a filling, protein-packed breakfast any day.

6.     Cloud Eggs

Also known as "eggs in a cloud," it is the final appearance of this dish that gives it this name. How are they made, you ask? Well, the egg whites are separated from the yolks. The whites are whipped into a fluffy mix, and then the yolks are carefully placed in the centre of each of the roundels before baking. Topped with cheese, garlic, and a few herbs, this baked delight tastes like a slice of cloud on your palate.

7.     Boiled Eggs

Now, with boiled eggs, it is very simple. All you need to do is add eggs to a pot of water and sprinkle some salt on it. Let the eggs boil in the water and take them out after about 15 minutes. That’s the case when you want to have hard-boiled eggs. However, if you are a fan of soft-boiled eggs, the cooking time would be shortened to about 7 minutes on medium heat so that the yolk doesn’t become firm.

8.     Baked Eggs

Easily made in a cup or mug, the baked eggs require you to dunk all your ingredients in one container and give them a spin in the microwave for a few minutes. Lots of butter goes into the making of these baked eggs, and you can season them with salt, black pepper, herbs, and more.

9.     Steamed Eggs

Popular in many Asian cultures like Chinese and Korean, where the steamed egg is not just a breakfast dish but also an appetizer, a snack, and a side dish too, The eggs are whisked and mixed with spices as well as veggies. Poured into a steel container greased with oil, it is filled halfway, and the lid is closed. This is placed inside a bigger container filled with boiling water. Wait for a few minutes, and your steamed eggs will be ready to be devoured.
