Anushka Sharma is one who enjoys food like a true foodie. She is passionate about not just one cuisine, but loves to experiment. And more often than not, she can't help but share her indulgences online. Be it her hearty meal of classic South Indian dishes, or a Bengali comfort meal, we have seen her enjoying it all thoroughly. A while back Anushka also indulged in an Assamese meal at home, which she had ordered for a small get-together with friends and family. Read more about it here. She often shares glimpses of her culinary adventures on social media and makes us hungry each time. And her latest indulgence is no different.

Currently shooting in the French capital Paris, Anushka could not help but be as Parisian as she could be. Besides sharing a couple of pictures of her view from the hotel room, she then showed us what she has been munching on while getting ready for her shoot. In the picture Anushka was seen biting on a croissant and sipping on her cup of coffee, while she stood on the window. ‘Being very Parisian here..,breakfast of coffee and croissant was devoured’ Anushka wrote on the first picture.

The next picture had her drooling over the classic Parisian morning meal, as she wrote in a classic desi style ‘Sahi mie bohat sahi tha (it was actually very good).’ Take a look at the pictures here:

Well, the treat definitely looks ‘kafi sahi’! If this wasn't enough to prove how big a foodie Anushka is, she also shared a similar set of pictures on her feed and wrote ‘When in Paris .. eat many croissants’. The crescent-shaped pastry is one of the most popular and loved French desserts, but did you know it isn’t really French? It was the Austrians who used to devour small pastries called ‘Kipferl’ during the 13th century. These pastries came either plain or with nuts. Unlike modern-day croissants, Kipferls were sweeter, denser and less buttery. Legend has it that the prototype of croissants was invented by some bakers in Vienna during the Ottoman siege on the Austrian capital. This same prototype was brought to France in the 19th century, and since then the introduction is attributed to two Austrian-born bakers- August Zang and Earnest Schwartzer. They opened a bakery in Paris in 1837-1839, and the word ‘croissants’ became popular in the mid-19th century, post which numerous bakers around Paris started making their own versions of croissants. That is some revelation, isn’t it?

And if Anushka Sharma’s Parisian treat has made you crave some too, we’ve got a croissant recipe right here
