STEP 1.Take the Besan and add it to the ghee which was separated from the Mawa or add 1 cup of melted ghee into a wok on a low flame.
STEP 2.Add another ½ cup of normal ghee saving one tsp for later use and mix the mixture well. Once it is mixed up add the 1 tsp which you saved and mix it well. Add more ghee if needed.
STEP 3.Once the mixture turns into more of a golden colour and more pasty and add in the mawa mixing it well on a low flame. Mix for 2-3 minutes and turn the flame off keeping it aside in a bowl to cool.
STEP 4. While the mixture cools take 2 ⅔ cups of sugar and add 1 ½ cup of water and add your kesar strings into a wok and heat it on a low flame till the sugar melts then increase the flame and mix it until it gets a bit slick.
STEP 5. Add in the Besan mixture and mix it well, heating it up till it gets a bit thicker and adding 1 tsp cardamom powder.
STEP 6. Pour it into a container to cool it down and add cut up almonds and pistachios for garnish. Serve it once it gets cooled down.
