• 1 teaspoon Salt
• 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
• 2 tablespoon Butter
• 0.5 C. yellow onion diced
• 2 Cloves garlic minced
• 0.25 C. all purpose flour
• 11.2 ounce Guinness beer
• 4 tablespoon Tomato paste
• 4 C. beef stock
• 3 Carrots or parsnips chopped
• 0.5 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 2 Stalks celery chopped
• 2 Bay leaves
• 1 teaspoon Thyme
• 3 C. potatoes peeled and chopped
• As required Salt and pepper to taste
