Beginning in the year 1992, the idea of World Ocean Day was proposed to make people aware of their impact on the oceans of the world. In order to increase active participation and vigilance among the citizens, this day is celebrated on 8th June every year. There are quite a few actors in Bollywood who are enthusiastic nature lovers like Anushka Sharma. While she has expressed her concern against animal harm on several occasions, Sara Ali Khan has always been quite active in voicing her opinions about the environment too. On the World Environment Day, in the last few years, she has shared videos and pictures of herself with inspiring poems to care for Mother Earth.

The Atrangi Re actress couldn’t help but share a collage of her pictures on World Ocean Day too. She clubbed together a few pictures from her vacation in Maldives and wished everyone a “Happy World Ocean Day”. Amidst the four blocks of pictures, we saw her lying on the beach in one of them and probably sun-bathing.

Beside her, we found a boat-shaped tray, full of food. At the corner of it was a coconut with a straw next to which was a glass of orange juice. There was a basket of fruits on the side and lots of creamy dips in smaller bowls kept in a row. Then we saw a huge bowl, which we’re assuming was filled with fish, prawns and shrimps. Fresh vegetables were also found at the side with some cutlery.

Loving her colourful platter near the glistening waters is already making us drool. While we love her way of celebrating World Ocean Day, we are also craving some good seafood. Here are a few recipes that you can try.

1.  Thai Baked Fish In Banana Leaf

Salmon is a good choice when it comes to this kind of dish. You can also pick cod or red snapper if you like. This Thai-style fish is cooked in coconut sauce, wrapped in a banana leaf. The fish is slathered with basil, galangal, garlic, lime juice and chillies. The fillet is then baked and served hot with a side of coconut-flavoured rice. You can also add some mashed potatoes to the side.

2.  Buttery Honey Garlic Prawns

Prawns shouldn’t be confused with shrimps as they are bigger and chunkier than the latter. To make butter garlic prawns, you need to marinate the prawns in honey, chilli, tomato sauce, soy sauce and ginger. Crushed garlic pods and melted butter are slathered on to it when it is cooked on a pan. These make for a great party snack or an appetizer.

3.  Tempura Fried Calamari

Made with squid rings, these batter-fried bites are a crispy treat. The squid rings are coated with the tempura batter made from cornstarch, egg yolk, baking soda and rice. These are then fried until light golden and served with a dipping sauce.
