Pyazi Kebabs

It's an ordinary Pakistani dish cooked with lemongrass, mint leaves and stir-fried in light oil. However, this is a unique appetizer, perfect for parties and, yes, far better than regular "pyaaz ke pakode".

Ingredients:

  • 500 gm large sized onion (sliced)
  • 150 gm lemongrass
  • 1 tsp red chilli (crushed)
  • 4-5 green chilli (finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)
  • 150 gm mint
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 150 gm fresh coriander
  • ½ tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1 ½ cup makai atta
  • 1 cup refined flour (maida)
  • 1 tsp sweet soda
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ghee, for frying

How to make pyazi kebabs?

  1. Take a bowl or plate, spread the thin slices of onion, lightly rub them with lemongrass, red chilli, green chilli, and ginger. Mix them and keep them aside for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Then add sweet soda and all the spices except salt. Again mix well.
  3. Heat some ghee on a tawa, sprinkle salt as per your taste, just before the cooking.
  4. Make them into a Tikki shape and fry them in desi ghee, crisp from both sides.

Enjoy this with imli or green chutney.


Fried Onion Rings

A perfect pick for tea time snack, it’s delicious and effortless. Onion rings coated in an egg-milk batter and fried in hot oil until crisp.

Ingredients :

For Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ cup water

For Egg Mix:

  • 1 egg white
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder

For Onion Rings:

  • Onions
  • Bread crumbs

How to make fried onion rings?

  1. Take a deep bowl, add all-purpose flour, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and oregano.
  2. Add olive and combine with a half cup of water and make a smooth batter by stirring thoroughly.
  3. Now prepare an egg mix, take another bowl, break the egg and take egg white, salt, and black pepper and whisk them well.
  4. Assemble the bread crumbs in a bowl /plate, take a slice of onion ring, dip in the maida batter, and then in the egg mix.
  5. Then dip it or cover it with bread crumbs and slip them into hot oil, one by one. Fry until it turns golden brown.

Your crispy onion rings are ready to be served with mayonnaise, sauce, or green chutney.
