Dacres Lane is a small bylane that connects Waterloo Street in the north to Easplanade Row on the south, which the Bengalis happily call ‘office para’ means office lane. Officially known as James Hickey Sarani, it has been nicknamed Dacres Lane. Most shops here run in a make shift arrangements, and once you are here, there is no dearth of food options right from. Chitto Babur Dokan is one of the oldest in the locality, known for some of the best fish fry, chicken stew, ghugni, chicken pakora, butter toast, mutton toast. This 70- year old shop is very popular amongst the regulars here. Very reasonably priced, this eating hole is a must if you're visiting Dacres Lane. The stew here is absolutely comforting and delicious and apart from meat, it also has papaya and carrot.

Nizam’s

Nizam’s, Kolkata, is where the famous kathi roll was born. Established in 1932, Nizam’s introduced this portable snack by wrapping kebabs in parathas. This tea room in Kolkata is a well-known local landmark. It is also a superb cafe and bakery. Serving customers and guests for many years—since 1927, to be exact—is Flurys' legacy. Initially, the usual customers were affluent Indians and British expatriates who could afford the exquisite cakes, sumptuous tea, and other treats offered here. The bakery now offers incredible assortments of cakes, mousses, chocolates, pastries, puddings, and pies. If you are planning to dine at the cafe before the game, you can enjoy delicious baked continental dishes such as steaks and English breakfasts.

Trincas’ menu has always been a reflection of Kolkata’s evolving tastes.
