  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ⅛ cup ghee

  • Roast them all on medium flame, and keep stirring constantly.
  • Once the lentils change their colour slightly, turn off the flame.
  • Next, take sugar and de-seeded cardamoms in a blender and grind them finely. Put this powdered sugar and cardamom mixture into a big bowl and remove uneven bites, if any.
  • Now, take moong dal, put it in a mixer and grind it too and finally add it into the same bowl
  • In the next step, take a pan and add a teaspoon of ghee to it followed by the crushed cashews, almonds and raisins to fry them.
  • Once fried, transfer them to the bowl which contains the laddoo mix already.
  • Mix all the ingredients well using your fingers.
  • Put ghee in a pan and heat it till it melts and warms up.
  • Then, pour this ghee little by little into the laddoo mix, start blending it, and make medium-sized laddoos by pressing them firmly with your hand.

Your moong dal laddoos are ready to be served.

Points to remember:

  • Ensure that the dal is roasted nicely. Don’t forget to stir it constantly to avoid getting burnt.
  • You can use powdered sugar or jaggery as well instead of normal sugar.
  • It is suggested to use normal sugar only if you want these ladoo crunchy.
  • Ghee should be added to the ladoo mix in intervals and then rolled into a medium-sized ball.
