The 10-day-long festivities of Ganesh Chaturthi have come to an end today (September 9) with Ganesh Visarjan. After celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi from August 31 - with the welcoming of Lord Ganesha to our homes, offering prayers, and seeking his blessings - it is now time to immerse the Ganapati idols, also known as Anant Chaturdashi.

Right before the final immersion, it is customary to have a Ganesh puja at home. Going by the traditions, Bollywood’s Kapoor family performed at a puja on September 8 at their residence, which was attended by members of the Kapoor khandan. Karisma and Kareena Kapoor were in attendance, along with their father Randhir and mother Babita, as well as Aadar and Armaan Jain, among others. Karisma shared snippets from the puja on social media. Besides everything else, what made us drool was the sweet indulgence the Kapoor family ended the puja with. Take a look at her post here:

"Ganpati Bappa Morya", she captioned the post. In the pictures, she showed us glimpses of the beautiful Ganesh pandal and the Bhog Prasad. Just like no Indian festival is complete without desserts, this too had a decadent one. The Kapoors enjoyed a delicious bowl of kheer.

Kheer is a classic rice pudding made with milk, rice, and an assortment of nuts. It seems like kheer is the favourite of the Kapoor sisters. This isn’t the first time we’ve caught them enjoying the sweet treat. They were spotted enjoying a bowlful of kheer during other festivals too. After all, the rice pudding is indeed an irresistible treat. If you too have been craving the traditional Indian sweet after Karisma’s tease, here is the perfect recipe for you to try at home amid the festive cheer.

Both Karisma and Kareena are foodies, and they don’t shy away from showing their foodie side on social media either. Be it Karisma’s love for coffee or Kareena’s love for homemade food, they often share snippets of their meals on Instagram. What do you think of the Kapoors' indulgence? Let us know.
